Job Description: Quality Manager
Develop and implement comprehensive quality control programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with USDA regulations and industry standards.
Conduct thorough inspections and audits of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to identify any quality issues and take corrective actions as needed.
Monitor and analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and patterns, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, processing, packaging, and logistics, to ensure that quality is integrated into all aspects of the operations.
Lead and train the quality team in conducting inspections, tests, and audits, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure their continuous development.
Coordinate and manage third-party audits and certifications, and maintain accurate records of all quality-related activities.
Investigate customer complaints and resolve any quality issues in a timely and effective manner, maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry regulations, standards, and best practices, and proactively recommend and implement changes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, preferably in the seafood or food processing industry.
Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs, and other quality and food safety standards.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Proven track record of leading and developing a high-performing quality team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) credentials preferred.
