REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS, AND BASIC SKILL LEVELS: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: High School education plus 5 years of experience as a Quality Technician Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English with excellent communication skills. Understands the care and use of pin gages, thread gages and gage blocks. Able to use micrometers, indicators, calipers, and height gages. Knowledge and technical background in manufacturing principles around which the parts are produced. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and costs. Knowledge of mathematics, including arithmetic and statistics. Advanced knowledge of interpreting blueprints with GD&T. Experience with AIAG PPAP and capability study requirements. Knowledge of computers, Windows environment including MS Office Suite, exposure to ERP systems a plus. Experience with InspectionXpert and Gage Pack software a plus. Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications. Identify and segregate nonconforming materials or product. Sort suspect materials or products for shipments as needed. Notify appropriate organizational members of nonconformances with materials, products, or processes. Converse with appropriate organizational members to troubleshoot or improve product. Comply with policies, processes, and systems of the ISO quality management system. Support the commitment to a safe work environment as stated in the safety vision and the safety manual. Perform other duties as assigned. Record, review, and submit dimensional results, including required PPAP data, to internal and external customers. Calibration and Process Audit Maintain gage calibration system for all measuring instruments used for accepting product. Review shop floor orders, blueprints, or other instructions to evaluate and audit quality of products, materials, and processes.
