R&D Trade Compliance Specialist

The R&D Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting Research & Development function with all their international sample shipments. They must ensure compliance with all import and export regulations governed by 15 CFR, 19 CFR, Customs, other Partnering Government Agencies, US Census Bureau and the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). Job Duties Oversight and escalation contact for US R&D International Trade Operations specialist with regards to imports and exports of Crop Health R&D materials. Daily operational requests Ensuring all needed import and export information is provided and correct prior to shipping. This includes but not limited to the following; HTS Code/ECCN Codes, Country of Origin, Value, EPA Notice of Arrivals, TSCA Certifications, Permits are in place where applicable and Incoterms follow global policy. Working with express carriers to help arrange freight where needed. (FedEx, DHL Express and World Courier) Ensure work processes and procedures for US R&D import and export compliance are current and aligned to the Global Trade Governance Policies Manage Export On-Demand (EOD) database from export perspective reviewing potential matches on denied party screenings and escalating them to International Trade Compliance Export SME when needed. Ensure all R&D shipments comply with our Sensitive Destinations policy Collaborate with Corteva International Trade Compliance Lead and Global Samples Services on process improvements for US R&D Imports and Exports. Leveraging expertise with Partnering Government Agency (PGA) requirements, such as EPA, FDA, and USDA, as applicable. Collaborate with Trade Governance Leader, International Trade Compliance and International Trade Operations on compliance improvements and issues as they arise Critical Success Factors: Ability to assure use of corporate processes to ensure compliance with regulations Strong knowledge/capability in trade compliance Self-starter with capability to expedite shipments with minimal guidance Ability to plan and execute programs, and benchmark best practices to develop processes that support continuous improvement Ability to recognize issues, problems or opportunities and collaborate with other departments to quickly resolve and avoid delays on shipments Teamwork and collaboration Familiarity with Customs ACE portal Previous chemical experience helpful Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Related industry certifications preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in international trade compliance or related experience within a global company, with a working knowledge of trade regulations
