Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Ready-Mix Driver to join our team in Portland, OR. As a Ready-Mix Driver you will safely and efficiently operate a large concrete truck in either an urban or rural settings.

What You'll Get to Do:





Deliver concrete to customers in a timely and customer-friendly focused manner.

Work with customers on site to achieve maximum customer service.

Visually inspect concrete mix for correct slump, and constituents.

Work closely with the dispatch team to ensure the quickest and safest route to jobs.

Maintain superior public relations in the performance of duties.

Observe all safety precautions and rules/laws specified by site, city, state, federal and Company regulations and policies.

Maintain vehicle in a clean, organized, and safe fashion.





Essential Experience and Skills:





Must have current Commercial Class B driver's license with airbrakes. VETERANS: Heidelberg Materials will help you acquire your CDL

Safe driving record. No serious moving violations within past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within the past 24 months (Driver's abstract required).

Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions.

Proven communication and problem-solving skills while working with customers.

Good attendance and punctuality a must.

Possess a solid knowledge of local and state transportation regulations.

Display or have some mechanical aptitude for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections.

Must have the initiative to be able to work without direct supervisor and be a team player.

Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather.

Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit, and shift gears.

Must be able to work flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends, and nights may be required.





Preferred Experience and Skills:





Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries and 2 plus year of commercial driving experience.

Current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate a plus.

Conditions of Employment:





Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.





Work Environment:





Role operations primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
