CalPERS seeks an Accounting Officer, Specialist in the Financial Reporting and Accounting Services Division, Recon Unit.
The incumbent performs reconciliations of the Small Fund Reimbursement account and Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) sub-funds expense accounts. Prepares and posts journals entries to record the monthly accounting activity and any adjustments and/or corrections to general ledger and the Lincoln Plaza Building accounts. Reviews the monthly Lincoln Plaza Building account accruals and validates the Lincoln Plaza Building accounts and sub-funds program to ensure appropriate accounts, funds, and fiscal years are utilized to provide accurate and consistent financial reports. Provides assistance to correct reconciling items between the State Controller's Office (SCO), State Treasury (STO), Affiliated Funds, and the department's appropriation records.

1.Your knowledge and experience, if any, processing, reviewing, analyzing, reconciling, and reporting general ledger and fund financial data. Please include the type of financial data, timing of reconciliations and reports, and accounting systems used.
2.On a scale from 1-5 (5 being the highest) rate your skillset with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft Financials (or other similar accounting software programs), SCO Legacy (SCOProd), and myCalPERS. Please describe your experience and/or give examples that support your rating.
3.Describe a time when you became aware of a potential problem and resolved it before it became an issue. Minimum Qualifications
