The Regional Director of Sales drives revenue generation through aggressive goal setting, team motivation, and proven sales strategies. A keen understanding of market trends, intuitive networking, and adept negotiation skills are necessary for success as a Regional Director of Sales. The primary role of the Regional Director of Sales is to lead hotel profitability through an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, develop and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan, motivate and train the sales teams to exceed targets, and achieve revenue and market share goals. The Regional Director of Sales will report directly to the Vice President of Sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market share growth across the region.

Lead and mentor a team of sales directors, managers, and representatives, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training to optimize performance and productivity.

Collaborate closely with hotel owners and general managers to understand property goals, market dynamics, and competitive landscape, and tailor sales strategies accordingly.

Coordinate with the marketing team to align sales efforts with branding initiatives, digital marketing campaigns, and social media engagement strategies.

Conduct regular market analysis and benchmarking to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Oversee the development and execution of compelling sales presentations, proposals, and promotional materials to showcase the unique value proposition of each property.

Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, including room revenue, occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR), and implement corrective actions as needed.

Stay informed about industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting the hospitality sector, and proactively share insights with the team.

Engage in purposeful communication and build long-lasting rapport with clients, creating an open dialogue to uncover client expectations and unrealized needs.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, online travel agencies (OTAs), and other key accounts to drive business and secure repeat bookings.

Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and generate new business opportunities.

Always maintain professionalism consistent with hotel brand and company expectations.

Required Skills and Requisites:

Excellent communication skills. Ability to convey information and ideas through a variety of media; engaging the audience and helping them understand and retain the message. Skilled at establishing effective relationships with customers and internal partners; promoting openness, trust and confidence in one's intentions. Requires effective reading, writing and oral comprehension. Must be able to speak, read, and write in primary language used in the workplace.

Service orientation. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Must possess strong sales and negotiation skills. Proven prospecting and new business development abilities.

Ability to analyze property staffing deployment and effectiveness.

Ability to creatively source and recruit talent.

Experience with third-party meeting planner resources.

Knowledge, experience, and ability to evaluate the effectiveness of sales expenses such as industry tradeshows, advertising, and third-party data.

Experience with major sales systems such as Delphi, STS Cloud, etc.

Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations; maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. Must be able to prioritize competing initiatives.

Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.

High School Diploma and/or four-year Business/Marketing College Degree or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 5 years of hospitality sales experience preferred.

Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time. Travel may be overnight.

Meeting or exceeding annual topline budget goals for assigned portfolio.

Meeting or exceeding annual RevPAR Index targets for assigned portfolio.

Meeting or exceeding group production goals for assigned portfolio.
