Qualifications and Experience Education/Degree Required · Bachelor's degree in nursing. Preferred · Master's or Doctoral degree preferred Summary Develop, coordinate, and direct orientation and training programs for all new staff. Identify areas for educational and professional development of current staff and implement appropriate learning experiences. Participate in projects related to education, training, staff development and promotion of nursing services within the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, Partners Healthcare System, and the community. Key Responsibilities · New knowledge, innovation, evidence-based practice, and research is promoted and supported to meet organizational goals. · Accountability for key performance indicators as assigned. · Mandatory education and competency testing is provided to nursing department to meet established standards. · Programs and systems are developed to meet the needs of the Nursing Department. · Clinical consultation is provided to staff to achieve performance goals. · Staff and manager education is provided during orientation, in-servicing, special projects,and competencies to achieve performance goals. · Certification and recertification testing is provided to ensure nursing department staff maintain current qualifications. · Professional continuing education is planned and implemented to achieve the patient service goals. · Educational needs are assessed and plans developed in collaboration with key stakeholders to achieve professional nursing performance and goals. · Patient safety data is measured and analyzed, and recommendations are made to achieve patient safety and nursing performance goals, including nurse-sensitive indicators such as falls and hospital acquired pressure injuries. · Quality improvement reports are developed as assigned. · Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.
