About the School or Chemistry and Biochemistry
The SCHOOL OF CHEMISTRY & BIOCHEMISTRY of the GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY invites applications for its Unit Administrative Officer position. The school has vibrant undergraduate and graduate programs, with over 400 undergraduate majors and 170 graduate students, and an extensive research portfolio. Its faculty, staff, and students participate in a range of dynamic and collaborative research programs and enjoy modern facilities located on a pleasant urban campus in the City of Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Summary

Research Scientist II in the laboratory of Professor Cicerone in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry with specialized training in Raman Spectroscopy and ultrafast optics. This position is critical for the operation of a program to map cell phenotype using Raman spectra taken from the cell as a potential surrogate for multi-omics measurements.
This position will include responsibility for assisting in setting program priorities as well as overseeing and actively participating in the day-to-day operation of the project. Success in these duties requires experience with cell or C. elegans culture and a working knowledge of Raman spectroscopy and machine learning approaches.

Required Qualifications

A Master's degree and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
A Master's degree and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
A Doctoral degree.
