ORGANIZATION SUMMARY World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world's greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.
Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
This position is contingent upon the successful acquisition of additional funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on the availability of resources. This position will assist the resettlement team in providing services to newly-arrived refugees by helping them access government and community resources and navigate their first weeks and months in the U.S. while meeting the requirements of the Federal Reception and Placement Program. This position works closely with other program staff to provide comprehensive services in partnership with members of the local community and area churches with the goal of encouraging self-sufficiency among those served.
This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 4/30/25 and contingent upon funding extension.
\n ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist refugees with transportation to/from their health screening appointments and other health related appointments Assist with ESL class registration and enrollment and encourage clients to engage in further integration programs and legal services Provide detailed and accurate documentation in client files and Dynamics Assist with enrollment in low-income housing as needed Identify and address barriers to successful resettlement as necessary Assist with creating case files for new arrivals and provide administrative support following case file reviews Assist in other programs and perform other duties as needed during periods with no or low refugee arrivals Transport clients to their appointments using own or World Relief vehicles Assist with administering beneficiary feedback surveys Communicate and work with volunteers in order to assist the resettlement team in tasks and core services JOB REQUIREMENTS:Mature and personal Christian faithCommitted to the mission, vision, and values of World ReliefDesire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communitiesAble to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation documentValid driver's license and reliable access to an insured vehicle required High school diploma Must be able to pass a background check and MVR check Experience in Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook Cross-cultural experience required Willing and able to work various hours during the day and available during weekends as needed PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Demonstrated understanding of case management processes; extremely detail-orientated; excellent time management skills Bi-Lingual desired (e.g. Burmese, Dari, Kirundi, Pashto, Swahili, Spanish). Strong verbal and written communication skills Previous case management experience preferred Skill and sensitivity working with people from various backgrounds and beliefs Ability to work with minimum supervision and resolve problems/issues promptly and effectively Ability to work well on a team in a synergistic work environment, a flexible and motivated team player Ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize in a fast paced and fluid environment
\n$17 - $18.50 an hour
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
