Acts as the store manager/assistant or Lead when these key holders are out of the store for an extended period of time, directing operations, associate assignments, and driving financial and production goals.Essential Duties(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)Accountable for all retail facility operations in the absence of other retail management team members.Open store and prepare facility for business day, pass out Matrix, ensure that production is done in line with production goals.Monitor sales floor to ensure an exceptional shopper experience, engage with associates and shoppers throughout the day.Close store, reconcile cash with daily sales reports and secure facility for the night in the absence of other management team members.Maintain visual presentation and sales floor maintenance at all times.Communicate with District Operations Manager on any issues identified within the store including safety, security and personnel issues.Act with the best interests of the organization in mind at all times, making decisions that are in line with Goodwills guidelines.Flexible in travelling to locations within home region.Email checked 3 times daily for communications that may need to be made in the absence of the store management team.Timely preparation of expense reports.Adapt to the nuance of each building, its associates, enclaves and goals.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.Education/Experience/Certificates/Security ClearanceHigh School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.1 Year experience in a leadership role required.No professional certifications are required for this position.Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.CompetenciesLives the Values, Drives for Results, Customer Focus, Communication, Job Skills Knowledge, Builds/Leads TeamsSafety StatementAssociates are required to follow Goodwill's safety rules and regulations, as outlined in Goodwill's policies. Managers have the added responsibility to ensure the compliance of their team members.Information Privacy and SecurityThis associate may have access to Confidential Information (CI) and is required to be familiar with the Goodwill Privacy policy 10.23 related to the handling of CI, and follow all related procedures required to protect the privacy and security of CI.Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work ConditionsThe associate is required to lift 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
