The Retail Purchasing Manager will direct and oversee TerrAscend Northeast's strategic and long-term retail merchandising strategies and team for the Northeast dispensary network, including overseeing Assistant Buyers and Purchasing Coordinators. They will directly create and shape the procurement strategy with regards to product mix, pricing, inventory levels, and selection within the stores. The Retail Purchasing Manager also works closely with the wholesale sales team in each state. Where you'll be planted: This is a hybrid role that requires occasional travel to our various retail and office locations in the Northeast Market (NJ, MD, and PA). Monitor retail inventory levels at the SKU level to ensure proper levels to support current sales plan by utilizing company reports and tools.Review and approve purchase orders quickly and timely to ensure the requested products from the vendor remain available. Develop and maintain relationships with supply partners, liaising between TA and National Accounts and Partners to represent TA retail operations.Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms and methods. Merchandising and buying experience (2+ years), ideally in cannabis Cannabis product knowledge is desirable. Supervisory experience required. Excellent working knowledge of Excel and use of other software systems used for analytics. Must be able to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Experience frequently interacting with customers, fulfilling customer requests, and addressing issues, questions, or suggestions. Professional written and verbal communication with multiple levels and departments, while being connected to the detailed support. Knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to positively influence people; must be capable of effectively interacting at all levels in the organization. Detail oriented with an eye on process optimization. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires it.
