JOB SUMMARY: The Physician is responsible for providing high quality care and support to a wide variety of patients while maintaining patient satisfaction and treating patients with respect and dignity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of health.Develop and document a plan of care for each patient, including a complete medical history, physical examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral, and hospital visitations when necessary.Make informed diagnostic and therapeutic decisions based on patient information, current scientific evidence, clinical judgment, and patient preference.Prescribe and perform competently medical procedures essential for the scope of practice.Counsel and communicate effectively to create and sustain meaningful relationships with patients, their families, and caregivers.Utilize information technology to optimize patient care.Work effectively with others as a member or leader of a healthcare team.Demonstrate dignity, integrity, excellence, compassion, stewardship, and responsiveness to the needs of patients.Portray a commitment to ethical principles pertaining to clinical care, confidentiality, informed consent, and business practices.Display sensitivity and responsiveness to a diverse patient population.Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical and professional standards of applicable medical societies and licensing agencies.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of established and evolving biomedical, clinical, epidemiological, and social behavioral sciences.Knowledge of Practice-Based Learning and Improvement.Skill in using a computer and various software, including EHR software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.Skill in professional communication, both verbally and in writing.Skill in managing multiple priorities.Ability to convey a professional demeanor when engaging with patients.Ability to enter data into a computer to maintain records.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Ability to act as a good representative of the company.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of Family or Internal Medicine Residency training, board certification, Nebraska License to practice, DEA License, and BLS certification preferred. Two (2) years of experience with EHR required.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: This role operates in a healthcare setting requiring frequent sitting, standing, and computer work. Must be able to stand 30%, walk 25%, and sit 45% of an 8-hour workday. Requires ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and perform physical activities such as bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder level occasionally.
