TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68124 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: PCU/Med Surg/Oncology (Stepdown) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% Job Description: - Care for patients in a mixed unit of PCU, Med Surg, and Oncology. - Manage a patient ratio of 1:4 in PCU and 1:5 in Med Surg during day shifts; 1 RN to 5-6 patients during night shifts. - Participate in a two-day orientation. - Titrate drips such as insulin and occasionally cardizem. - Utilize RT equipment available on the floor. - Float between med/surg and PCU units as needed. - Collaborate with additional unit support staff, including PT/OT, RN case manager, social work, educator, and dietician. - Administer medications, including chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix. - Participate in hourly rounding to enhance patient experience. - Exhibit teamwork and cultural sensitivity in the care setting. - Work every third weekend and self-schedule shifts. - Utilize EMR system EPIC with Alaris IV Pumps. - Engage in real-time training for ventilator management and other hemodynamic monitoring. - Show a genuine need to care for patients, maintain a positive attitude, and foster teamwork.
