Job Objective: Responsible for ordering raw materials and scheduling production lines at LBM in a
manner to maximize plant efficiency while meeting customer delivery schedules & maintaining a high service level.
Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned) Maintain and support Food Safety and Defense policies. Receives incoming PO's, verifies the ship date needed can be met by LBM production. Schedules production lines based on line capability and like bottle concept to maximize efficiency. Monitors lead times closely to allow time to meet customer demands while providing accurate information to sales, customer service, and the customers. Orders raw materials required to meet production requirements, to include resin, colorant, corrugation, and PCR. Schedules bulk and railcar resin deliveries. Records and analyzes silo counts daily of G50 to receive full bulk load resin trucks to avoid additional fees. Update and maintain Spectrum Dropbox. Record daily production into system and enters via ERP system. Record daily resin, corrugate, and color usage and enters via ERP system. Approves purchasing invoices. Works with the Director of Operations and Production Management to communicate machine priorities based on customer requirements. Handles customer service / sales calls regarding product availability (as needed). Verify data in production monitoring system schedule, production review, and downtime. Manage labor effectiveness for monthly capacity for budget analysis. Expert applied knowledge of forecasting, MPR, transportation, supply chain, inventory management and warehousing disciplines. Manage and schedule requisitions for both purchased and manufactured products in ERP system. Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery. Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes. Responsible for all production scheduling. Establish 2 month rolling forecast of planned production for setting targets to be monitored. Monitor demonstrated capacity risk vs. forecast demand. Report metrics related to scheduled performance, labor efficiency, ect. Participate in daily production meetings to review results and communicate pertinent information to the team. Serve as a liaison between supply chain and operations related production scheduling. APICS CPIM certification is strongly preferred. Understanding and experience managing multi-level bills of material (BOMs), and routes. Relationships and Roles: Internal / External Cooperation Proactively establishes and maintains effective working team relationships with all support departments and management levels. Maintains a high level of customer and vendor relationship skills, problem solving skills, and a strong work ethic to maintain competitive positioning and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Job Specifications and Education Requirements: Associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent years' experience and training; or combination of both education and experience. Ability to work both independently and with a team to facilitate and foster positive employee morale. Working knowledge in implementation and maintenance of computer systems and work processes. Experience with Epicor is a plus. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Microsoft Office Proficiency. Data analysis and pivot table skills required. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to customers and vendors. 3+ years of experience in production scheduling and/or inventory management experience for a manufacturing company. Experience and proficiency in how to extract and manipulate data from an ERP system.
