Job Description As a School Program Director at The Menta Group, you will collaborate on the development of school plans and procedures for instruction, students' social/emotional needs, safety, building procedures, and other building needs.
Location: 6340 S New England Ave, Chicago, IL 60638, In-Person, Monday-Friday
Position Type: 12 Month Calendar position
Qualifications: IL PEL with School Principal/Administrator Endorsement Required

ResponsibilitiesSupport school-wide initiatives in special educationDrive change by working alongside staff and students to improve academic and behavioral achievement and support the overall learning environmentLead the school by building high performing teams and responsibly manage work and people while enlisting others in the school visionPromote the success of students by creating an instructional program that continually strives to improve teaching and learningCreate and maintain a school environment that focuses on students and emphasizes high academic expectations, a personal approach, caring, discipline, and orderEncourage professional development and effectively supervise teachers and staff in order to improve student learning and academic achievementConfer with students, parents, and staff to resolve issues and problemsQualificationsPEL with Principal Certification is requiredPEL with LBS1 Certification is strongly preferred, but not requiredA strong knowledge of the IEP process and special educationA strong knowledge of the PBIS modelExcellent organization, time management, and follow-up skillsKnowledge of Common Core StandardsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasivelyAbility to successfully handle multiple projects concurrentlyBenefitsBenefit options include: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Insurance ProgramsMedical Insurance enrollment is available to full time employees on their date of hire. The program provides support for English and non-English speaking children with disabilities by focusing on the whole child in their native language. Collaborative and data-based problem-solving approaches are utilized to develop appropriate interventions and progress monitoring.
The classrooms integrate evidence-based strategies from the Structured Teaching Model developed by Division TEACCH, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Physical structure, visual schedules, work systems, communication systems, and sensory supports are thoughtfully integrated to optimize student success.
Midway serves students in grades K-12 and those transitioning from school to life ages 18-21. Disabilities served include autism, emotional disabilities, specific learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, other health impairments, traumatic brain injury, and multiple disabilities.
Professional Associations and/or Partnerships The Menta Education Group affiliates are members/partners with CEC, CASE, Autism Speaks, ASBA, AAPSEC, AASA, CCSSO, SEAA, ASCD, and many more associations that focus on the education of children with disabilities.
