Title: Scientific Services Support
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 12+ months
Daily Responsibilities/Job Description: Pick up and deliver glassware and plastic ware
Observe the established procedures for the handling and transporting of glassware and contaminated items
Operate autoclaves for decontamination or sanitization
Operate glassware washers, dry heat sterilizers and ultrasonic baths
Maintain temperature chart recorders / equipment forms and use proper documentation
Perform routine inspections/checks on glass wash and autoclave equipment
Prepare items for sanitization including glassware, caps and related articles, employing procedural steps during the process
Inspect glassware for cleanliness and structural defects
Routinely checks inventory of glassware, notifying Glassware Lead of deficiencies
Provide housekeeping of glassware processing areas
Follow all procedures in performing all aspects of glassware processing
Perform monthly de-scale and routine maintenance
Use Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for all paperwork
Observe all safety precautions and be proactive in raising safety and operational concerns
Complete all required training in a timely manner
Mentor/Train new team members
Work with team lead to develop process improvement initiatives
This role will work closely with other teams to seamlessly deliver lab support services
Will be required to cross-train and back-up other lab support areas as needed
Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment
Interaction level with Management/Team Members: Daily
Skills Overview:
Qualifications/years of experience:
Associate's degree in a scientific field OR
High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience in a related field
Must Haves:
Previous glass wash experience preferred
5-panel Drug Screen from any Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration ( 'SAMHSA")
