We are seeking an experienced Scientist/Senior Scientist to join our client's Protein Discovery team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in protein purification and a deep understanding of protein biochemistry. This role will support the development of cutting-edge immune-modulatory therapies, with an emphasis on therapeutic proteins for oncology and autoimmune indications. Primary Responsibilities Perform transient expression of engineered proteins, including Fc-fusion proteins, in mammalian cell systems. Carry out protein purification using various chromatography techniques, such as affinity, ion-exchange, and size-exclusion chromatography. Execute protein characterization and quality control through a range of analytical assays, including SE-HPLC, SDS-PAGE, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and ELISA. Conduct buffer optimization and screening to determine the best formulations for therapeutic proteins. Support the optimization of protein conjugation and purification processes. Analyze experimental data, generate insights, and recommend follow-up experiments. Communicate findings clearly through written reports and oral presentations to cross-functional teams. Work closely with the protein production team to improve workflows, troubleshoot issues, and provide hands-on assistance as necessary. Keep accurate and detailed records of laboratory work and experimental data. Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of laboratory instruments relevant to protein production and analysis. Qualifications B.S. or M.S. with 7-8 years of industry experience, or a Ph.D. with 1-2 years of industry experience in a Biotech / Biopharma setting. Proven hands-on experience in protein purification and a solid understanding of protein biochemistry. Proficiency with instrumentation such as AKTA is essential. Expertise with bioanalytical techniques, including HPLC, DSC, SEC-MALS, DSF, and other similar tools. Experience in designing and executing biochemical and biological assays. Experience in protein conjugation chemistry is a significant plus. Scientific understanding of experimental design and underlying principles.
