Position: Security Systems Technician Location: Rockville, Columbia, DC, Beltsville - MD focused but may preform work in DC and surrounding areas.

A Security Systems Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and functionality of security systems. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this position:
Duties and Responsibilities :
Installation and Testing : Install conduit, cabling supports, and pathways for both indoor and outdoor wiring systems. Terminate and test security system wiring and data cabling. Mounting Hardware : Mount security panels, hardware, and devices professionally on surfaces and rack spaces. Equipment Inventory : Assist the foreman by checking equipment inventory and loading equipment. Network Skills : Implement local area networks, including wireless technology, across various operating systems and platforms. Troubleshooting : Troubleshoot and solve network and computer issues related to security systems. Mechanical Ability : Work with locks and mechanical devices. Telecommunications Knowledge : Familiarity with telecommunications systems is beneficial. Education and Experience :
High school diploma or trade school education is preferred. 1-2 years of related industry experience is advantageous. Valid driver's license required. Ability to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician licenses. Experience implementing local area networks to include wireless technology using multi-operating systems and platforms. Network and computer trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills required, including knowledge of networking, theory, principles and practices. Specific knowledge of TCP/IP and Windows Server. Mechanical ability to work with locks and mechanical devices. Knowledge of telecommunications systems is helpful. Physical Requirements :
Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces. Willingness to work at heights. Proficiency in operating electrical tools. Ability to differentiate color coding of cables. Lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
