SUMMARY:  American Landmaster is growing and we need to hire a motivated individual to join our Purchasing Team. This position will be responsible for managing the sourcing strategy and day-to-day purchasing activities for a group of key suppliers. This candidate will have firsthand experience negotiating supplier contracts, assessing supplier capabilities, and managing continuous flow of material replenishment. An individual with an entrepreneurial mindset, a positive attitude, and motivation to pursue a career in Purchasing will thrive in this role!    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ·        Analyze sourcing requirements to ensure adequate supply for production without the need for premium/expedited freight. ·        Identify opportunities for cost reduction; Implement and track cost reduction projects that are identified. ·        Collaborate with Engineering and suppliers to source new components. Ensure Suppliers are meeting Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements during launch. ·        Negotiate purchase prices, payment terms, order quantities, and other key supply metrics to optimize material cost. ·        Create and send purchase orders to suppliers. ·        Schedule and manage shipments to ensure on-time delivery; negotiate transportation rates for best landed cost. ·        Analyze current and forecast inventory levels and adjust supply as necessary to maintain inventory targets. ·        Evaluate supplier performance on an ongoing basis; Key supplier metrics include On-Time-Delivery, Cost of Poor Quality, and Engineering/Technical Support Capabilities. ·        Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Finance in the Engineering Change Process. ·        Ability to act as a company representative when required. ·        Collaborate with the suppliers and Quality Department to ensure suppliers meet product specifications. ·        Travel to suppliers as necessary. More than 25% of the working schedule may involve travel. ·        Knowledge of the industry and business insight within a given market. ·        Create and Evaluate Make-vs.-Buy Analysis. Identify new opportunities to out-source or in-source production operations. ·        Analyze economic trends and prepare future spend forecasts. EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE): Bachelor's Degree Required. Major in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering preferred. 5 years' experience in Purchasing for a manufacturing organization is preferred.
