Responsibilities Provide design and trend direction for woven & knit dresses, easy pull-on separates (bottoms & tops) Be a creative innovator, leading to both commercial and creative success. Bring passion, creativity, energy, and inspiration to the team; possess the credibility to influence with conviction. Manage, create, and adhere to time and action calendar Lead schedule and execution to ensure  schedule is met for proper delivery of collections Strong follow-up and completion skills Study markets, consistently shop the market (our competition and aspirational brands) for inspiration and product opportunities keep track of what product is needed for each specific delivery while simultaneously designing the current line Design the line according to classification/style plans, sales needs, and emerging trends Participate in seasonal color direction and color palette building Lead fabric, and trim innovation & sourcing – domestically & with overseas factories Ensure the line stays on brand and has consistent styling details Develop product, and marketing concepts for emerging categories or items Ensure the product is being designed within cost parameters Collaborate with marketing and sales on collateral for buyers, trims, and in-store marketing needs Build strong relationships with sales, production, tech, fabric R&D and marketing Work closely with the Design Director in all aspects of product development Source and choose materials (leather, fabric, ornamentation) for samples. Present sample as envisioned. Special projects as needed Uphold design integrity and high-quality execution throughout the entire development process from concept through to market. Position Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent 3-5 years experience in fashion related industry Strong leadership qualities and possesses great organizational skills to successfully delegate. Can see the big picture, and can work on the tasks at hand yet able to plan ahead Has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and be able to multi-task on tight deadlines Is a self-starter and works with a high sense of urgency Strong Photoshop & Illustrator skills Strong sketching and design capabilities Knowledge of the target market and dept. stores Experience leading and designing a successful tops and dresses line Knowledge in including construction and fit and component sourcing/manufacturing (materials development, duties, etc). Ability to problem-solve when dealing with specifications, construction, prints… with vendors.
