The population is 13,069 and is only 19 miles or about 30 minutes northeast of the larger Seattle, Metropolitan area.

Senior Designer Responsibilities
Supervise and provide project drawing production.
Identify production workload to ensure quality and quantity standards.
Mentor and train CAD Technicians.
Oversee outside consultants for CAD and Graphics.
Meet with Project Managers to identify production workload.
Manage project directory of all project files.
Maintain CAD standards.
Ensure quality assurance and quality control of graphics and CAD engineering plans.
Coordinate workload by setting priorities, scheduling work assignments, and overseeing direct report employee workloads.
Evaluate and verify employee performance through a thorough review of completed assigned work and work techniques.
Identify personnel development and training requirements to ensure that subordinates meet required standards of knowledge and expertise.
Conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
Participate in the hiring process and make recommendations to senior management.
Maintain records and compose correspondence related to production.
Manage the production of engineering plans and ensure projects are completed in a timely manner according to LDC standards.
Train staff in software applications to improve efficiency and knowledge.
Implement processes that increase productivity and efficiency.
Assist with IT tasks.
Manage equipment and supplies for printers and plotters, as needed.
Skills and Specifications
Comprehensive knowledge of Civil3D and Land Development Desktop.
Ability to perform civil engineering design such as site layout, grading, erosion control, road profiles, utility plans, etc.
with little input from project engineers.
Possess excellent command of verbal and written communications including the ability to keep high quality notes.
Knowledge of municipal and state design standards and codes.
Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
Possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Stress management and time management skills.
High-level proficiency in computer software program related activities.
Self-motivated, hardworking, highly ethical, and dependable employee.
Possess excellent rapport with management and co-workers, positive can-do attitude, excellent customer service, marketing, and people skills.
Ability to handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented, organized, multi-tasking and good follow-through skills.
Ability to work discreetly with sensitive and confidential information.
Education, Experience, Qualifications
Associates' degree in Computer Aided Drafting or related field from an accredited college or equivalent experience considered sufficient to address the demands of the position.
Minimum 12 years' experience in CAD with increasing responsibility.
Civil 3D experience required.
Minimum of 3 years' supervision of staff and project production experience.
Physical Considerations
Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, and calculator.
Ability to perform repetitive, finer hand and arm movements.
Work activities involve combination of sitting for longer periods and intermittent standing/walking.
