We are currently seeking a Senior Coding Quality Educator who will play a vital role in our Coding Integrity and Knowledge Management team. As part of this dynamic team, you will assist in the day-to-day operations, researching and developing coding guidance based on healthcare regulations, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on all coding matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the identification, development, and delivery of coding changes and updates.
Collaborate with various departments and regional coding teams on coding matters.
Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for all coding-related inquiries.
Provide coding support and education to regional coding teams as needed.
Maintain documentation, update coding guidance, and develop action plans.
Review patient details based on coding and documentation guidelines.
Participate in progress meetings to discuss process improvements and updates.
Communicate coding updates to relevant staff members.
Assist in creating standardized workflows and improving provider documentation.
Attend and present at regional meetings as required.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders or American Health Information Management Association.
6+ years of experience in professional fee inpatient, surgical, outpatient coding, E/M, auditing, and related work.
Strong proficiency in Excel, database management, email, and internet applications in a Windows environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Technology or related field.
Experience in multispecialty practice coding and professional fee billing methodologies.
Familiarity with various healthcare software systems and project management.
