POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Compliance Specialist provides support to their team and affordable communities by ensuring they are in compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations. This is accomplished through reviewing lease documents and providing guidance to site staff when corrections are needed.

Have a great attitude Have high expectations Think BEYOND the box Work with passion Have a tireless work ethic Be confident Be self-sufficient and self-motivated Take pride in your work Be a good listener Offer a solution with every problem Go above and beyond for everyone you support KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge of IRS rules and regulations that govern the Tax Credit Program Knowledge of specific state rules and regulations that govern the Tax Credit Program Ability to calculate income/assets Ability to use and/or learn to navigate computer software systems (i.e. PMS, state systems), and basic knowledge of PDF creator, Excel, and Word Attention to detail Ethical conduct ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Training Compliance Specialist on EPM/Fortress processes for file reviews and program/state specific information for their portfolio. Supervises a group of Compliance Specialists including scheduling their time, tracking performance, and coaching them to be successful members of the team. Reviews resident files for completion and compliance with state requirements. Scheduling meetings with Operations to cover files, questions, etc. when needed. Meets specific deadlines set by state agencies. Assess files and corrections to determine training needs for Operations Team Members. Approves files once complete. Tracking 140% and Income Average process to ensure compliance. Submits tenant information into the state online systems. Communication with compliance and operation team members for files and corrections. Provides guidance on tenant file corrections to staff at the property sites. Performs additional duties as assigned. SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE: Associate's Degree preferred, but not required 2-5 years of similar experience Experience in other programs preferred but not required PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Frequently sit, stand and walk Regularly required to talk or hear Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Occasional travel for state trainings and onsite visits.
