We're actively seeking a talented Attorney to join our Office of General Counsel team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.
As a Senior Counsel you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by providing legal services to the Global Institutional Investors Group, including services related to product design and development, distribution matters, and operational structures. You'll play a key role in supporting the rapidly growing Institutional Division, fostering Pacific Life's growth and long-term success in our chosen institutional markets.
How you'll help move us forward:
Leveraging your capital markets and treasury experience to support the development, issuance, and maintenance of funding agreement backed notes and commercial paper, direct funding agreements, guaranteed investment contracts, stable value products, and other institutional annuity products
Coordinating with broader Office of General Counsel team to support Pacific Life's capital market activities and transactions
Partnering with other attorney and compliance members of the Office of General Counsel team to ensure the Institutional Division has and continues to develop a robust, effective and risk-based compliance program
Engaging with industry peers, both directly and through industry trades, to identify, leverage or develop best practices.
The experience you bring:
Law degree and state bar admission
5+ years of highly relevant experience in capital markets and securities law
Proven ability to advise clients on the structuring, issuance, distribution, and trading of fixed income products, as well as the compliance and disclosure obligations, risk management, and dispute resolution issues
Comfortable dealing with and making decisions in the face of ambiguity
Ability to breakdown, understand, and communicate complex issues
Problem-solving mindset
Strong interpersonal skills

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$159,660.00 - $195,140.00
