Overview:
We are looking for a strategic thinker, strong executor, and inspiring leader to fill an immediate vacancy for a Senior Director of Product Management.
Reporting to Vice President of R&D and Product Solutions and as a member of the TA Instruments Business Committee, this individual will provide senior-level leadership in the development and implementation of the worldwide product strategies and product management roadmaps for both new and existing materials characterization product lines.
This position will be located in the New Castle, Delaware facility.


Responsibilities:
Product Roadmap: Establish and implement TA Instruments portfolio strategy and product roadmaps for each product line aligned with the companys overall goals and market demands.Oversee all new product opportunities and enhancement of existing products and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure product delivery from development to commercialization.
Clearly and continually communicate strategic directions, product status, delivery details, and desired outcomes throughout the company.
Product Innovation: Develop new product strategies for each product line delivering impactful, reliable and cost-effective products to satisfy evolving customer needs.Create new product definitions outlining strategies, positioning, target customers, claims, key features and specifications.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer insight and new product opportunities.
Manage the drafting of customer needs, product requirements and building of financial models to support new product innovations.
Product Marketing and Launch: Oversee the development and implementation of product marketing and new product launch strategies.Drive launch planning for new products.
Collaborate with internal partners to ensure alignment and execution of launch plans.Partner with customer facing teams on go-to-market execution, product messaging, and sales enablement materials/demos.Recommend and set pricing structure for new and existing products based on positioning and competitive landscape.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external collaborators and opinion leaders.People / Leadership: Build, train, develop and manage a world class product management team capable of achieving the innovation necessary to keep TA Instruments at the forefront of the industry.
Participate as an active member of the TA Business Committee providing insight, resources, solutions, suggestions and advice across all areas of the business to achieve the best overall success possible for the entire organization.Champion innovation within the product management team, fostering a culture of creativity, forward thinking and collaboration.


Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or Life SciencesMBA Degree preferred in Marketing, Management or other related fields.
Ph.D. or other advanced degrees in science and engineering is a plus.10+ years of related industry experience (at least 5 years of which are in a management role), with a strong aptitude for electrical, mechanical, and software systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Deep knowledge of the global materials characterization markets with 10+ years of market specific experience within the fit of TA/Waters or related technologies and solutions.
Strong product management experience developing product roadmaps and product line plans in accordance with strategic marketing planning.
Demonstrated knowledge of developing customer needs, market requirements, product requirements and financial models.
Proven track record of managing teams to drive product marketing, new product development and introduction in terms of timelines, budgets, quality, performance and product reliability.
Knowledge and experience in project management techniques including the product development process, budgeting, forecasting and maintaining timelines, achieving technical deliverables and prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to comprehend the scientific theories that guide the technical requirements of the instruments.
Demonstrated managerial and leadership skills including experience managing subordinate managers and organizations preferably with multiple locations.
Detail orientation to profitability with a demonstrated knowledge of the market and competition.
Leadership, accountability, customer focus, results oriented, team builder, flexible and innovative Strategy development, business and operational planning and execution, organizational effectiveness, financial management, change leadership, business development, staff management and development.
