Position Overview:
A3 has a full-time staff opportunity for a Senior Director/VP in Business Development. This is an A&R position in the world of merch. We are looking for a creative driven individual with previous experience and a strong "rolodex" in the music industry.
STARTING SALARY HAS A FLEXIBLE RANGE DEPENDENT UPON QUALIFICATIONS. THIS IS A BONUS ELIGIBLE POSITION.
Job Duties & Functions
Exceptional eye and ear for identifying new talent as well as strong networking skills to attract artists looking for a new merch home
Sign both up-and-coming and established artists
Stay on top of trending artists and genres through both old and new school methods (Ear to the street vs Eye to the Data)
Consult on the development and design of the entire client merchandise line to ensure clients creative vision is represented
Work closely with the A3 Account Management and Vending team to ensure new clients are onboarded in the best environment
Maintain high client retention through strong relationships with artists and managers
Travel to concerts and events to understand the customer and stay "in the know"
Stay educated on new tech and platforms that help identify trending talent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal candidate is driven, has strong networking skills and a beat on what is happening in the world of music.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team is essential.
Demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail, including experience coordinating multiple assignments and projects in a deadline-driven environment with an effective resolution of conflicting priorities.
Proficiency with PCs and/or Macs; ability to use common software packages and online/mobile applications; ability to learn new software packages and applications as needed.

Ability to learn new "players" in the industry, managers, agents, business managers, etc…

Signing talent that has an upward and stable sales trajectory.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in merchandise sales or A&R.
Understanding of the artist and event merchandising business.
