Summary
Civil engineering, planning, construction management firm, with a public sector client focus, seeks a qualified Environmental Scientist to assist our environmental team on a full-time basis.
Located in Puget Sound, this position would provide support to various environmental assessment, environmental compliance, and infrastructure permitting projects.
Work includes due diligence work, report preparation, and various environmental field work.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently in support of the Environmental Services Team and project managers with all aspects of client and project team coordination.
Responsibilities
Assume lead and supporting technical role for projects.
Report writing, generation of figures, tables, and database management.
Complete Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment.
Support Project Managers in preparing scopes of services and fee estimates.
Perform Investigations at chemically contaminated properties.
Collection of soil and water samples using various sampling techniques.
Prepare environmental documentation in support of NEPA, SEPA, and local agency permitting requirements.
Planning and coordinating directly with subcontractors and field personnel.
Assume supporting roles in proposals and business development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in geology or environmental scientist; 10+ years directly related professional experience and/or training in environmental assessment/remediation related work.
Completed HAZWOPER 40-hour training, along with updated 8-hour refresher.
Ability to obtain Washington State Site Assessor Certification (UST) Background in statistics and working with statistics software, such as Excel to derive meaningful results from various types of data.
Must be self-sufficient, resourceful, and demonstrate exceptional writing and editing skills.
Expert-level use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
ARC GIS experience desirable.
