Senior Fermentation Engineer

As a Sr. Fermentation Engineer, you'll play a key role in advancing cutting-edge fermentation technologies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity to innovate and optimize industrial-scale microbial fermentation processes, driving improvements in efficiency, sustainability, and product quality. You'll be at the forefront of exciting new developments, mentoring a team of specialists and interns while delivering impactful solutions to shape the future of fermentation science.
Key Responsibilities: Champion safety and environmental policies to ensure a secure and sustainable workplace.Track and analyze fermentation batch data to unlock new ways of enhancing yield and quality.Lead innovative lean manufacturing projects that boost efficiency and reduce waste.Develop and implement creative solutions to optimize fermentation, recovery, and formulation processes.Keep production batch records, SOPs, and training manuals up-to-date for continuous improvement.Tackle troubleshooting challenges, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions that push the boundaries of what's possible.Spearhead cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or yield.Ensure optimal performance of fermentation equipment, maximizing output and reliability.Provide technical leadership and hands-on training to inspire production teams.Cultivate a culture of innovation, introducing cutting-edge technologies to stay ahead of the curve.Drive capital investments and technical advancements to propel process improvements.Additional Responsibilities: Collaborate on exciting new product development initiatives.Craft and execute robust process validation procedures.Experiment with ways to boost product quality, yield, and cost-effectiveness.Develop advanced statistical models to fine-tune process optimization.Embrace additional responsibilities as the role evolves and grows.Preferred Qualifications: BS in chemical engineering, bioengineering, or a related field (MS or Ph.D. preferred).Hands-on experience in industrial-scale microbial fermentation is a strong advantage.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills that inspire collaboration.Ability to thrive both independently and within a diverse, cross-functional team.Proficiency in computer skills; knowledge of process control and automation is a plus.Experience in Six Sigma and process optimization adds an extra edge.Flexibility to work off-shift and weekends as needed for critical operations.
