The Opportunity
The senior manager of tax will directly assist the vice president with global tax planning and compliance.
Will lead U.S. international tax compliance and assist the tax director with quarterly and year-end tax accounting.
Will continue to grow and develop a team of talented tax professionals.
This important role will specifically include managing the completion of all required U.S. federal corporate income tax forms, including, but not limited to, 5471, 8858, 1118, components of GILTI, FDII and BEAT as well as tracking CFC, Earnings and Profits, Previously Taxed Income/ Basis, local foreign taxes and FTC baskets and assistance with the implementation of Pillar II.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES and SKILLS
1) Assist with the general function for all aspects of U.S. tax compliance and financial reporting as it pertains to the international operations.
2) Assist the Tax Reporting function with calculations required under ASC 740 relating to international operations.
3) Knowledge and experience of 2017 tax reform, including; section 965 transition tax; global low-taxed intangible income (GILTI); foreign-derived intangible income (FDII); base erosion anti-abuse tax (BEAT); section 245A participation exemption; section 267A anti-hybrid rules; section 163(j) interest expense limitations; and various other changes to subpart F and FTC regimes.
4) Assist with the implementation of Pillar II.
5) Assist with international tax software maintenance for both compliance and reporting, including e-filing of tax return.
6) Review / Prepare U.S. International and Domestic tax returns.
Review certain foreign income tax returns prepared by outside service providers.
7) Assist with various assigned projects, including research and planning for specific issues (including assisting planning team with fact finding, analysis and related planning support).
8) Work with third parties, including "Big Four" tax accountants, tax lawyers from major law firms, valuation specialists and investment bankers.
9) Support Knowles foreign operations with international tax matters (e.g., tax law changes, intercompany charge out allocations, transfer pricing documentation).
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Vice President of Tax
POSITION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
BS degree in Accounting required.
MST and/or CPA preferred.
8-10 years of progressive work experience in international tax areas (i.e., compliance, ASC740, planning).
Experience at a company with global operations and / or public accounting firm.
Working knowledge of computer software applications (MS Office, HFM, Oracle) and U.S. tax compliance and U.S. tax provision systems (ONESOURCE preferred)
Application of the US GAAP rules related to international operations.
