We're looking for a Senior Product Data Scientist to help drive impact on meaningful technical problems that have a positive impact on our users' lives.

Additionally, pay is not determined based on location. The salary range for this position is $165,000 - $200,000 depending on experience and interview performance. Equity and excellent benefits come with this position as well!What you will do: Contribute to software systems used by millions of low-income Americans, helping to put dollars back in their pocketsDrive change through impactful data analysis and investigationsMaintain reliable data pipelines to ensure trustworthy data.Work with product teams which may include our government benefits team, marketing, growth, and debit.Effectively communicate with team members during projects, code review, etc.Contribute to building our data science culture and processes as we continue to scaleCollaborate on deciding on the right projects, building great solutions, and helping your team succeedWhat you have: 5+ years of startup experienceFluency in SQL and either Python or RExperience leading research efforts on product and system opportunitiesExceptional skills at converting questions into data analysis and insight, with just the right level of complexity.Quantitative mindset, strong at working with probability distributions, causal inference, cost-benefit analysis.Experience with a startup environment or the ability to operate effectively when faced with ambiguityStrong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences and topicsEagerness to learn new techniques, strong prioritization skillsPassion for making a difference in the lives of our usersNice to have: Experience with or knowledge of government services, particularly safety net services like SNAP, WIC, TANF, SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, Section 8Additional Considerations: We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team, and welcome applicants from all backgrounds and abilities.We're currently accepting applications from the states where we have an established entity, which includesCalifornia, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.More About Propel We believe that Americans with limited income deserve modern, respectful, and effective experiences around their government benefits and money.
