What we need: 31st Union is looking for a Senior Software Engineer that can own major runtime systems – designing and implementing performant and maintainable solutions for our AAA multiplatform title. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in low-level systems programming, with a deep understanding of performance optimization, memory management, and cross-platform development. You will collaborate closely with other teams, including gameplay, graphics, and tools, to ensure seamless integration of new systems while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities: Write clean, maintainable, and performant codeCollaborate with content and engineering teams to identify and validate solutionsPrioritize tasks and factor development efforts accordinglyIdentify limitations of current solutions and propose new approaches when neededProfile, optimize, and tune for multiple platforms while addressing build and productivity blockersMentor junior programmers and model best practices within the teamRequired Qualifications: 5+ years of programming experience on commercial software projects or at least one shipped AAA game, preferably in UnrealFluency in C/C++, multithreading, 3D math, and memory systemsStrong debugging and optimization skills for complex systemsAbility to work independently and efficientlyExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies quicklyStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsRelevant Experience: Functional knowledge of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S development toolsExperience with Unreal Engine 5Experience with content pipelines
