Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with extensive experience in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles is essential. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.
Responsibilities
Manage month-end close procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis to highlight key performance metrics and trends.
Coordinate and assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with operational teams to develop accurate projections.
Perform cost accounting activities, including analyzing manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and overhead allocation.
Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy of financial records.
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and streamline accounting procedures.
Support external audit activities by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
Stay updated on accounting standards and industry best practices, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development within the organization.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
8 years of experience in accounting roles within the manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including cost accounting principles and inventory management.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with relevant accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842).
Experience with ERP systems implementation or upgrades is a plus.
