Simulation EngineerSwisslog is growing! Join our Sales, Solutions and Design team as a Simulation Engineer who will extract data and analyze it to design warehouses (intra logistics) based on data files from potential clients operating or planning warehouses.
Methods of data-analysis of warehouses in Swisslog's line of business are available.
Based on data-analysis and Material Handling solutions developed by System Designers or Consultants, simulate the solution using our simulation tool (AutoMod and/or SIM3D).
ResponsibilitiesTechnical/Commercial KnowledgeData-analysis tools such as MS Excel, MS Access, and SQL Server.Mathematical formulas commonly used in material handling business (Pareto curve, safety stock, etc.).Understand basics in material handling systems (will get training).Understand typical warehouse operations (will get training).Experience in computer simulation works (in material handling or other flow simulations) with any simulation tool. Customer FocusConduct communication with clients to clarify any received data files.Good English required. Analytical Thinking & Decision MakingHigh analytical thinking to understand data files received from clients and their relation to client operations.Judge received data and clarify any requirements for professional data analysis to form the basis for material handling solutions. FlexibilityAdjust data-analysis to different material handling solutions and future growth scenarios as directed by System Designers and Consultants. TeamworkStrong skills in working together with a team to meet set deadlines and tasks.Present data-analysis results to internal teams at reviews and to clients. CommunicationOpen-minded communication skills for clear communication between team members and clients. LocationNewport News, VA office. Application RequirementsBachelor's Degree with a preference for a major in Math.Proficient in at least one simulation package for material handling systems.Proficient in MS Excel and MS Access.Experience in any simulation package.At least 3 years of experience in data-analysis and mathematical analysis.Experience from Material Handling industry and logistics/supply chain environment is preferred.Proficient in SQL Server (programming) or similar is strongly preferred.
