Social Work Tutor

Students may only have 5 open job applications at a time. Job Summary Tutor to provide individual instruction and coaching to supplement classroom learning for social work students. Provides individual instruction and coaching to supplement classroom learning. Provides secretarial assistance to the social work program director, faculty, and staff as needed. Position to start in Fall 2024 semester.
Primary Responsibilities Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students. Teach students study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies. Review class material with students by discussing text, working solutions to problems, or reviewing worksheets or other assignments. Provide private instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance, improve occupational skills, or prepare for academic or occupational tests. Meet with social work professors as needed to review course books, materials, and requirements in order to provide proper tutoring and instruction to students. Assess students' progress throughout tutoring sessions. Candidate must be self motivated and have the ability to work independently. Performs other duties as assigned. Education High school Diploma.
Lower division social work courses successfully completed.
Work Experience 6 Months General Work Experience
Physical Demands Typical office and classroom environment.
