Responsibilities
• Build and enhance large-scale systems using distributed data stores• Collaborate with cross-functional team members• Develop and deliver exciting features• Ensure web service performance• Question assumptions and provide elegant solutions• Develop and advocate for coding best practices• Build robust and maintainable web-based projects• Demonstrate feature prototypes• Work with multi-functional teams to understand requirements• Scale web applications to handle millions of requests per second
Requirements
• Expert knowledge of developing and scaling Java web applications• Experience with NoSQL solutions like Cassandra, Voldemort, Redis, and Memcached• Experience with data pipelines using Kafka, Spark, HDFS• Experience with Solr/Lucene• Strong object-oriented design and analysis skills• Experience with object-relational databases like Hibernate• Knowledge of JVM hosted languages like Clojure is a plus• Experience writing effective unit and integration tests• Outstanding critical thinking and debugging skills• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams• BS or MS in Computer Science preferred• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience preferred• Experience with crafting web applications that scale
