Job summary
Administer, manage, and enforce the provisions of the Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control ActSupervise and perform maintenance and inspections on county drainsWork under the direction of the County Drain Commissioner

Responsibilities
• Review proposed site plans and conduct on-site inspections• Issue permits, notices, and approvals• Prepare and monitor department budget• Supervise and coordinate maintenance of county drains• Schedule program activities and tasks• Inspect county drains and drain repairs• Implement tile repair and inspect work• Respond to inquiries, communications, and correspondence• Develop and prepare various documents and reports• Supervise the application of herbicides on county drains
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction, drainage, or environmental fields• Valid Michigan driver's license• Department of Environmental Quality Certification within 1 year• Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator within 1 year• Ability to walk over uneven terrain and lift objects weighing 30 lbs. or more• Ability to operate equipment and perform complex adjustments• Ability to recognize and identify characteristics associated with job-related objects
