Role Summary:
The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing high-quality IT solutions that align with the target architecture for OBIM and HART systems. This role involves defining architectural standards, strategies, and tools to support business requirements effectively and efficiently. The Solutions Architect ensures that all projects and solutions conform to the DHS Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) or equivalent processes, integrating architectural best practices throughout the system development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Solution Design: Develop and design solutions architecture to meet business requirements and align with the target architecture. Architecture Standards: Define and maintain architectural standards, strategies, and methodologies in accordance with DHS guidance and best practices. Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise in planning, designing, and implementing IT solutions, ensuring compliance with architectural standards. Integration: Ensure the integration of commercial software products and custom code, managing the interfaces between various systems and components. Governance and Compliance: Participate in architecture governance through review boards and ensure compliance with DHS policies and procedures. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs and technical requirements. Documentation: Develop and maintain architecture artifacts, including models, diagrams, documents, and databases, to describe the current and future state architectures. Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities for system optimization and innovation, ensuring the implementation of best practices and cutting-edge technologies. Minimum Requirements:
Experience: Over 10 years of relevant experience in solutions architecture for large-scale IT systems, including experience with multi-tier architecture and complex software integration. Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with architectural frameworks, EA tools, and methodologies, and proficiency in programming languages such as GO, C++, JAVA, and PL/SQL. Certification: Relevant certifications in solutions architecture or equivalent professional qualifications. Knowledge and Expertise: In-depth understanding of the DHS Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) or equivalent lifecycle processes, and agile/DevSecOps methodologies. Education: A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as computer science or engineering. Preferred:
Advanced Technical Skills: Proficiency in additional programming languages and tools relevant to system design and integration. Cloud and Infrastructure: Strong background in designing and implementing cloud-based and on-premises solutions, including network infrastructure and storage systems. Security Awareness: Understanding of security requirements and best practices, ensuring that all technical solutions comply with relevant security standards. Project Management: Ability to manage and coordinate complex technical projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project goals. Advanced Degrees: A master's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as computer science or engineering. Certifications: Relevant certifications in solutions architecture, project management, or agile methodologies. Strategic Development: Experience in developing and implementing strategic technical plans, including technology roadmaps and innovation strategies.
