The SMB Solutions Engineer, Pre-Sales (SE) role is a dynamic and varied customer focused technical position.
The SE works closely with the Account Executive (AE) as a part of the Go To Market team to provide technical and cyber defense expertise in the pre-sale process.
Responsibilities Being accountable for the technical engagement of the Proof of Value (POV) (pre-sales technical trial) from end to endDesigning, documenting, and communicating solution architectures for Darktrace POV deployments and full contract deploymentsPresenting Threat Intelligence Reports and advice to a variety of audiences, from technical audiences to C-level executivesRecommending and deploying integrations as needed for best-practiceActing as a technical point of contact between clients, partners, and internal teams within DarktraceWorking closely with teammates on the Account Executive teamDriving a value-selling approach to work towards a technical win state for dealsAssisting with and participating in forecastingTransitioning closed accounts smoothly and successfully to post-sales account management teams (SEs, CIEs, CSMs, etc)Engaging with the Channel team to act as a technical touch point between clients and partnersStaying up to date on all Darktrace products and software versions to own the technical relationship with the client and provide up-to-date expertiseQualifications & Experience: Proven technical ability via a technical degree program, cybersecurity certification, or commensurate experienceKnowledge of technical language (computer networking and cybersecurity)Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to clearly communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences, and presentation skills in a customer-facing contextAbility to work both independently and as part of a team in an innovative and fast-paced environment whilst delivering to deadlinesEnthusiasm for innovation, experimentation and self-development in the cybersecurity fieldAdditional Details: This role is fully remote, however it is preferred that the individual is located near one of the Darktrace SMB hub offices (Los Angeles, CA) and would be able to be physically present in that office occasionally and as appropriate in working with the sales team (for example, annual Sales Kick Off, possible trainings/events held on approximately a quarterly basis.
