The Immigrant & Refugee Services Division at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is seeking a Full Time SOR Caseworkers & Caseworker Assistants to support Refugee Support Services program.
The Services for Older Refugees Caseworker will be responsible for providing case management and support services to refugee program clients aged 60 and above. Under the supervision of Program Manager, the duties of SOR caseworker will include but is not limited to the following duties:
• Assist ORR eligible clients with accessing mainstream aging services in the community
• Educate clients to improve access to information about supportive services, nutrition services, meal delivery, prevention of elder abuse, senior community centers, and intergenerational activities.
• Assist clients in applying for and maintaining public assistance benefits, including Medicaid, SNAP, and SSI.
• Develop opportunities for older refugees to connect with their communities to avoid isolation, through resources such as mental health support, community navigators, and opportunities for engagement in social and cultural activities.
• Provide interpretation and translation services to older refugee clients. • Ensure all data recording in client database is timely and accurate including client enrollments, services, referrals, and file closures. • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager
