Hiring a sous chef with passion for food, service, and executionAssisting the Executive Chef in leading the culinary team and operating the kitchenRequiring 5 years of high-volume kitchen experience and 1+ year of sous chef or kitchen manager experience
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Ensure food is executed to the highest level• Verify and utilize systems such as line checks, prep lists, temp logs, etc• Manage labor according to business volume and assist with scheduling• Uphold food handling and safety protocols• Create a positive work environment and mentor the team• Assist with food ordering and inventory counts• Ensure staff follows recipes and plate specifications• Train new employees
Requirements
• 5 years of current, high-volume kitchen experience• 1+ year proven experience as a sous chef or kitchen manager• Professionalism towards all FOH and BOH employees• Understanding of kitchen weights, measures, and recipe adjustment• Ability to multitask and train others to do the same• Availability to work nights and weekends• Understanding of labor management and meeting budget goals• Understanding of inventory management and ordering• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email)• Ability to spend long hours standing and walking• Ability to lift 30-50 pounds• Work professionally under pressure• Reliable transportation• Maintain high energy levels throughout a shift
Key Skills Needed
