Sports Director - Georgetown County

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Center Executive Directors and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Sports Director – Georgetown County will oversee the management and operation of Youth and Adult Sports programming for three Georgetown County YMCA's (Tidelands Georgetown, Tidelands Pawleys Island, and Andrews). The Sports Director will also be responsible for expanding our service area to surrounding communities, specifically Williamsburg County.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Exercise Science, Health, or equivalent.
YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
Two or more years of related field experience with comparable program growth.
Two years of demonstrated experience in training and development of volunteers and staff.
Computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, and database management.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Fun, creative and imaginative mind is desired to continue the program growth trajectory.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.

Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members, or guests to your supervisor.
Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children.
Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and assigned Redwoods trainings within 30 days of hire date.
