JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This role helps to ensure that accounting functions are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with external regulations and internal protocols.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Complete month-end close and financial reporting.Perform monthly account reconciliations verifying invoices received, assigning the appropriate accounting codes, and ensuring that payments are processed accurately and on time. Help maintain good relationships with the vendors and ensures the company's financial records are accurate. Ensure invoices are reviewed, coded, and paid in a timely manner. Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns.Provide financial reports to internal and external customers as needed. Generating and distributing financial reports to various stakeholders, including director. These reports may include budget vs actual analyses, financial forecasts, and other relevant financial information. This position will help in the creation of budgets for different departments within the organization. This may involve working with department heads to understand their financial needs, setting budgetary targets, and tracking performance against budgeted figures. Review general ledger for accuracy.Assist with external and internal audit requests. This involves providing documentation, explanations, and support during both external and internal audits. Ensures that all requested information is provided in a timely and accurate manner. Complete special projects as necessary, such as process improvements, system implementations, or any other projects assigned by management that require expertise of a senior accountant. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and other accounting, financial, and cash-handling standards.Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronics Health Records (EHR) software, scheduling software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.Skill in communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing.Skill in managing multiple priorities and delegating as needed.Ability to read and understand financial statements.Ability to convey professional demeanor, sound judgement, and maintain confidentiality.Ability to translate general administrative guidelines into specific action.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Ability to act as a good representative of the company. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of work experience in accounting or a related field required. Certified Public Accountant preferred, along with prior experience with Quickbooks.
