POSITION SUMMARY – Supporting the accounting team in executing a wide variety of projects including department Kaizen efforts and to support accounting and reporting requirements and delivery for all new initiatives to transform the existing business and grow new business.
Lead the planning, testing, and implementation of all aspects of the projects from an accounting and reporting perspective. Includes responsibility for change management and communication activities.
Maintain accountability for all phases of the projects and for the delivery of required project results, as directed by the National Manager.
Establish project metrics and milestones and manage to them.
Understand the key business issues of the customer, including their key metrics.
Support accounting and reporting requirements, as necessary
Step in where needed to address important issues, urgent problems and resource issues
List the position Requirements:
Provide accounting and tax with Reconciliation Systems support, including the monitoring and review of jobs; alerting impacted teams and tracking of issues to resolution, upon job failures; support resolution efforts of failed jobs, as necessary, and process user and account maintenance ensuring all are processed and supported in accordance with ITGCs; resolve unassigned accounts by identifying and assigning account reconciliation owners; report development and testing.
Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for all edits processed in the system, and user attestation evidence
Research and resolve reconciliation system issues impacting Accounting. This entails researching issues within the system as well as participating in developing and implementing the solution(s). Requires strong collaboration with technical and operational departments across the company, as well as with the software vendor.
Lead Accounting’s involvement in reconciliation system upgrades, patches, and fixes. This includes coordinating testing efforts by defining testing windows, arranging schedules, creating & assigning test cases/scripts, creating instruction materials and hosting kick off meetings with testers. Also requires executing Administrator testing and validations, and defect resolution by working with the technical teams and vendor.
Participate in, and lead development or revision of ReconNET processes and procedures, when necessitated by new reconciliations, programs, operational processes, or product lines. This includes working with other departments to gain an understanding of the change and assessing the Accounting impact to the existing system configuration.
Ensure compliance with SOX controls and maintain SOX Audit testing evidence; lead walk-through discussions with internal and external auditors to evidence both automated and manual controls throughout the year.
Support various ad-hoc or new requests from the Accounting Department, IDS, or Auditors.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, IT or related field
Relevant work experience in a similar field and/or industry
Experience in Financial Reporting
Experience with Accounting-related projects and/or system implementations
Project Management Experience
Strong Communication Skills
Experience in the Banking Industry
CPA or relevant Public Accounting Experience
Experience in Agile based project management
Scrum certification or equivalent experience
