Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Lawyer to join our legal team. This role is critical in ensuring that our organization adheres to legal standards and in-house policies, thus mitigating legal risks and safeguarding our reputation. The Compliance Lawyer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, advising on legal compliance, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and corporate policies across the organization.

You possess strong research skills, project management skills, and have significant policy drafting experience.
You have a passion and experience training and counseling engineers, developers, and other business stakeholders on how to X critical legal matters. PlusYou are a highly knowledgeable on the following: global privacy laws, FTC compliance (consumer protection), HIPAA, Artificial Intelligence, etc.
\n What You Will Do: Compliance Program Development: Design, implement, and manage company-wide compliance programs that meet regulatory and legal requirements.Regulatory Monitoring: Keep up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that affect the organization's business operations and compliance practices, advising on necessary adjustments.Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, providing corrective guidance where needed.Policy Drafting and Implementation: Draft, update, and enforce corporate policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Training and Education: Conduct compliance training sessions for employees to raise awareness on compliance issues and ensure adherence to policies.Internal Investigations: Lead internal investigations into suspected or reported violations of compliance policies, working with relevant stakeholders and reporting findings.Regulatory Reporting and Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, preparing required reports and coordinating inspections, if applicable.Advisory Role: Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior management on compliance-related issues, including anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, data protection, and corporate governance. What You Will Bring: Education: JD degree from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in [relevant jurisdiction].Experience: Minimum of 7 of experience as a compliance lawyer or in a similar legal/compliance role, preferably within [industry, e.g., financial services, healthcare, etc.].Knowledge: Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, TCPA, COPPA, BIPA and HIPAA) and federal government agencies requirements. Excellent communicator: Ability to clearly articulate risk exposures and simple solutions in a fast-paced, product-driven environmentLeadership: Strong leadership skills, work ethic, excellent judgment, a good sense of humor and passion for helping the business succeedSkills: Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Proven ability to develop and implement effective compliance programs.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.Proficient in compliance software and technology platforms, a plus.
