Position Summary: The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for establishing and executing supply chain business strategy through directing the activities of the supply chain division, which facilitates the achievement of the company's goals and objectives. The Supply Chain Division includes procurement, master scheduling, manufacturing planning, inventory control, and warehousing.
Primary Responsibilities: Establishes operations standards for procurement, manufacturing planning, logistics and distribution, cost control, and safety.Establishes supply chain policies in the areas of materials management, shipping and receiving, safety, customer service, and performance measures.Directs implementation and execution of supply chain policies and practices throughout the organization.Recommends and implements strategic changes in supply chain operation strategy.Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.Builds a strong relationship with the Commercial operation group and the global supply chain group, leading the S&OP processes (Sales and Operations Processes).Oversees supply chain operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.Ensures compliance with state and federal storage and transport regulations, customs, and international transportation regulations.Monitors and maintains departmental personnel commitments and deadlines. Leads team members by establishing performance criteria, providing training and resources, and giving regular coaching, feedback, and guidance. Ensures an engaged and skilled workforce through active listening and communication.Education, Skills, & Experience: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, plus a minimum of 10 years leading logistics teams in a relevant industry (distribution, logistics, planning, procurement, customer service). A Master's degree with 7+ years of experience is also accepted.APICS certification preferred.Requires experience in and demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others.Must possess advanced knowledge of industrial techniques, process improvement, freight and distribution, materials management, and production scheduling.Understanding of warehouse management and warehouse flows.Understanding of the S&OP process.Experience with SAP is preferred.Supplier Management/Procurement experience is preferred.Continuous Improvement experience is preferred.The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.Strong customer orientation and commitment to company values.Must have proven success in change management and continuous improvement.International business skills.Must possess advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Package and ERP.
