Imagine if you could design an immigration law firm that you've always wanted to work for.
It's caring, compassionate, and collegial. (Even fun sometimes.)
Imagine if you could do the immigration work that you are deeply passionate about (you might say it's your mission in life) and have been doing for at least 3 years, including Removal Defense, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, Asylum, Immigration Appeals, and federal lawsuits.
Imagine being paid fairly and generously–$75k to $110k per year, depending on your experience, with a monthly bonus structure worth $15k to $40k per year.
All while being on a partner track, with tons of opportunities for professional learning and growth.
But not just that.
Imagine working for a founding partner that hates to micromanage, loves AI and new technology, and praises team member victories both large and small.
Jaskot Law is not like any other traditional immigration firm.
Okay, in some ways it is–they offer a hybrid schedule (2 days remote, 3 days at their Baltimore office), a 401(k) with a matching amount, PTO, health insurance (firm pays 50%), dental, vision, and life insurance, plus reasonable working hours Monday through Friday.
But they're not looking for just another immigration attorney to fill a seat.
Is This You? You are a bilingual English/Spanish speaker and an attorney in good standing with the Maryland Bar. You have at least 3 years of experience in humanitarian and family-based immigration law.
But here's what will really set you apart:
You have "fire in your belly" and want to be in a leadership role and on a partner track. You love new technology and want to incorporate it into all areas of your immigration practice to improve productivity and serve clients. You want to work in a supportive and equity-driven environment with a non-traditional leadership structure. What You'll Need to Thrive in the Position As Sr. Immigration Attorney, you'll prepare applications, petitions, appeals, and waivers, conduct legal research, provide legal advice, manage cases and paralegals, go to state court for SIJS hearings and Immigration Court for Master and Individual Hearings, and adapt to legislative changes.
Other qualities you'll need to thrive in this role:
Organized, Self Starter - You will supervise a large caseload in state court, EOIR, and with USCIS. Good Supervisor - You will supervise paralegals and other attorneys. Empathetic and Emotionally Resilient - Representing children who have experienced trauma requires a strong dose of empathy and understanding. Excellent Communicator - You will help clients understand complex processes. Ethical and Competitive - The firm's goal is to win cases against the government.
