As a Performance Analysis Engineer, you will work as part of a team responsible for modeling, measurement, and analysis of storage systems performance.   This role is within the Research and Development function whose overall focus is on technology advances, competitive market and customer requirements, product cost and time-to-market, and product quality. Performance engineers focus on performance analysis and improvement for new products and features as well as enhancements to existing products and features. This position requires an individual to be broad-thinking and systems-focused, creative, team-oriented, technologically savvy, able to lead large cross-functional teams, and driven to produce results.   Essential Functions: Create analytical and simulation-based models to predict storage systems performance Evaluate design alternatives for enhanced performance, and prototype opportunities for performance enhancements Measure and analyze product performance to identify and realize performance improvement opportunities Design, implement, execute, analyze, interpret, socialize and apply storage-oriented performance measurements and their results, including the creation of tools and automation Work closely with development teams to drive the performance improvement agenda Job Requirements •    In-depth knowledge of performance analysis and modeling -- tools, techniques, and benchmarks •    Extensive knowledge and experience in computer operating systems, computer architecture and design, data structures, software design and programming practices; systems programming in C and/or C++ •    Strong scripting skills - Perl, Python (primarily within JupyterHub), Shell •    Knowledge of storage systems and file systems highly desirable •    Ability to create and enhance automation frameworks (generally python-based) to improve productivity in those environments •    Strong influencing and leadership skills with exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills •    The ability to make accurate work estimates and develop predictable plans •    A creative and analytical approach to problem solving •    Demonstrated willingness to take on additional tasks and responsibilities that positively contribute to realization of team, department, and company goals   Education B.S and 12 years of experience, M.S. and 10 years of experience or Ph.D. and 8 years of experience, in Computer Science, preferred, or Computer Engineering or related engineering/scientific field. Compensation The base salary range for this position is [$181,645]–[$270,380] and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
