SafeAI is a pioneering leader in the development of self-driving car technology in mining and construction scenarios. Our mission is to create safer, more efficient worksites through cutting-edge autonomous vehicle systems. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in embedded systems to join our dynamic team and contribute to the advancement of our autonomous driving platform.
Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C++ embedded software modules for various aspects of our self-driving car system, including sensor drivers, data pre-processing, algorithm deployment, etc.Optimize code for efficiency, reliability, and scalability to meet performance requirements in real-time and resource-constrained environments.Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and enforce coding standards and best practices within the software team.Debug and troubleshoot software issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure the stability and robustness of our software stack.Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering, and apply relevant advancements to our development process.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for automotive embedded software development, such as ISO 26262.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, integration, and QA, to define software requirements, and implement feature enhancements.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.2+ years of professional experience in software development.Proficiency in C++ (C++11, 14, or 17) programming languages, with experience in embedded Linux environments.Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures, including microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control systems (e.g., Git), unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS), multi-threading, and concurrency concepts.Experience in networking and CAN communication protocols, such as DDS, QoS, CAN, Ethernet, etc.Knowledge of GPU architectures, and CUDA programming.Knowledge of automotive safety-critical systems and functional safety standards, such as ISO 26262 and ASIL requirements.The base salary range for this position is $130K-$180K per year. SafeAI's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
