This job contributes to Starbucks success by joining a small team that will build a new multi-year enterprise supply chain traceability operating model and put into place key strategies, processes, and systems to meet compliance regulations, proactively manage risk, and realize additional value in the global supply chain.
As a Sr Manager Sourcing Traceability, you will…
Shape the Business & Develop Strategy:
Work with critical business functions, utilizing benchmarking, insights, and knowledge in sourcing commodities, sustainability, and traceability for human rights and environment-related regulations to develop business cases that support the operating model's strategic pillars and implementation road map across global supply chain functions.
Program Management:
Oversee project activities to develop the operating model managing to timeline and budget. Tracks and reports project metrics and provides strategic and tactical advice on program/project planning and execution.
Risk Reduction and Proactive Regulatory Compliance:
Partner with Enterprise Social Compliance, Sourcing, Customs/Trade, and Food Quality teams to identify, assess, and mitigate supplier and supply chain risk presenting business and use cases to inform prioritization.
Creative Problem Solving, Influence & Storyteller:
Have a clear ability to connect broader efforts across the organization, find efficiencies, and drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
We'd love to hear from people with:
Summary of Experience
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or other related fields preferred.
4+ years of sourcing experience preferred.
Sourcing Foundations:
Intermediate knowledge of procurement processes such as category/commodity sourcing strategies, upstream traceability, risk management, and key legal terms.
Problem Solving & Business Acumen:
Proactively identifies and addresses problems constructively and takes action to resolve.
Teamwork:
Effectively influences across peer groups and senior management level on complex strategy and demonstrates leadership.
Project Management:
Highly effective employment of project management tools and techniques. Ability to prioritize and redirect under pressure. Proactively mitigates situations before they become issues.
Emotional Intelligence & Influence:
Ability to lead in an ambiguous environment and agile response to change. Demonstrate effective influencing skills via the ability to flex your style depending on strategy and stakeholder.
Communications:
Ability to prepare clear and concise verbal, written, and visual presentations effectively utilizing storytelling techniques and ability to clearly communicate written and verbally to cross-functional stakeholders & senior management to align and implement strategy. Proactive communication to management.
Intellectual Curiosity:
Proactively identifies and engages in opportunities to expand knowledge via external benchmarking, external resources, further education (i.e. certificates), learning more about the broader business, attending conferences, etc. Applying learnings and shares learnings broadly with peers.
Other:
Intermediate to Master in MS Office Suite, (including Excel pivot tables, managing complex formulas + data); also knowledgeable in BI Apps, Oracle ERS, SAP Ariba, Power BI, Tableau, or other like systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Supply Chain Traceability:
4+ years experience in sourcing sustainability, traceability, supply chain human rights/environmental regulation compliance or commodities management.
New Program Development:
4+ years identifying opportunities in supply chain or regulatory space to inform creation of new program, process optimization, or supplier engagement.
Problem Solving & Business Acumen:
Strong acumen for coping with different business situations in a professional manner via obtaining essential information, focus on key objectives, recognize options available for solving problems, selecting the right approach to overcome obstacles, and set plans in motion to achieve execution.
Emotional Intelligence & Influence:
Anticipate others' perspectives based on their role, level, and body language. Response to change is to consciously move through acceptance, adoption, and internalization. Ability to effectively use different types of influencing styles.
Communications:
Skilled storyteller in answer-first style.
