Location Description
The Flamingo Resort & Spa is a mid-century marvel in The Valley of the Moon. The buildings, rendered with natural materials and iconic angular silhouettes, are the work of master architect Homer A. Rissman. Set on a 10-acre campus, it is an incomparable property for both its city access and sense of complete retreat.
Overview
The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel. This role includes maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience in the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Process invoices, verify their accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
Manage the accounts receivable process, including billing, collections, and recording of payments.
Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
Asissit witih maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts
Prepare and post journal entries
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts
Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting
Provide support and guidance as a team member of the accounting/financial department
Assist with special projects as assigned
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of GAAP and hospitality industry-specific accounting practices.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
CPA certification is a plus.
Compensation Range
The compensation for this position is $23.00/Hr. - $25.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
